7CrMn2Mo Steel Bars and Plates

2026-05-15
7CrMn2Mo is a medium-carbon alloy structural steel classified as a cold-work tool steel. Renowned for its excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, it is widely utilized across the industrial manufacturing sector. Through a carefully designed chemical composition, this material achieves an optimal balance of high strength, good toughness, and wear resistance.

**7CrMn2Mo Chemical Composition:**
Carbon (C) content: 0.65%–0.75%;
Chromium (Cr) content: 1.40%–1.80%;
Manganese (Mn) content: 1.80%–2.20%;
Molybdenum (Mo) content: 0.20%–0.30%;
Silicon (Si) content: ≤0.40%;
Sulfur (S) and Phosphorus (P) contents are both controlled to ≤0.030%.

**7CrMn2Mo Steel Performance Characteristics:**
Following a heat treatment process consisting of quenching and low-temperature tempering, 7CrMn2Mo achieves a hardness level of HRC 58–62, while simultaneously exhibiting high compressive strength and excellent fatigue resistance.

**Key Advantages of 7CrMn2Mo Steel:**
**Excellent Wear Resistance:** Features high surface hardness, making it suitable for applications involving high-friction operating conditions;
**Moderate Toughness:** Capable of withstanding certain impact loads, thereby reducing the risk of brittle fracture;
**Good Heat Treatment Stability:** Possesses a deep hardenability depth and exhibits uniform mechanical properties across its cross-section;
**Good Machinability:** Highly adaptable to various processing techniques, including cutting, welding, and cold forming.

**Applications of 7CrMn2Mo Steel:**
- **Cold-Work Dies:** Such as blanking dies, deep drawing dies, cold heading dies, etc., particularly suited for the processing of thin metal sheets;
- **Mechanical Components:** High-load gears, shafts, fasteners, and other parts requiring both wear resistance and compressive strength;
- **Tool Manufacturing:** Shears, reamers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools requiring a specific combination of both high hardness and toughness.
