Features and Application of Tseries Carbon Tool Steel
T7/T7A tool steel is a steel with sub-eutectoid composition. Its strength increases with the increase of carbon content, and it has better strength and plasticity, but its cutting ability is poor. Tool steel is used to manufacture tools that require greater plasticity and hardness but less stringent cutting requirements, such as chisels, punches, small-sized pneumatic tools, woodworking saws, chisels, forging dies, stampers, fitters Tools, hammers, rivet dies, sledgehammers, lathe tops, sheet shears, drill bits, etc.
T8/T8A carbon tool steel is a steel of eutectoid composition. Quenching is easy to overheat, deformation is also, and the strength and plasticity are low. It is not suitable for tools that are subject to large impact. However, it has high hardness and wear resistance after heat treatment. T8/T8A tool steel is used to manufacture tools that are not prone to heat during work, such as milling cutters, countersinks, axes, chisels, simple die punches and hand saws, circular saw blades, rollers, lead tin for wood processing. Alloy die-cast plates and cores, tools for fitter assembly, compressed air tools, etc.
T9T9A carbon tool steel performance is similar to T8, T8A. T9T9A tool steel is used to make tough and hard tools such as die punches and woodworking tools. T9 can also be used to cut parts for agricultural machinery, such as blades.
T10/T10A carbon tool steel belongs to hypereutectoid steel, and it can maintain fine grains without heating when it is heated at 700-800 degrees Celsius. After quenching, there is unmelted excess carbide in the steel, which increases the wear resistance of the steel. T10/T10A tool steel is suitable for the manufacture of tools that do not change heat during operation, such as manufacturing hand saws, machine fine wood saws, twist drills, drawing fine films, small punches, taps, planing knives, reaming tools, screw dies, milling Knives, drill bits for hard rock, thread cutters, tools for drilling compact rocks, chisels for engraving knives, etc.
In addition to the characteristics of T10 and T10A, T11/T11A tool steel has better comprehensive mechanical properties such as hardness, wear resistance and toughness. It is less sensitive to grain growth and formation of carbide mesh. T11/T11A is a tool that is not easy to heat when it is manufactured, such as taps, trowels, scrapers, cold molds and woodworking tools that are not large in size and have no sharp changes in section.
T12/T12A tool steel has high carbon content, and there are many excess carbides after quenching. Therefore, the wear resistance and hardness are high, but the toughness is low. It is suitable for manufacturing tools that are not subject to impact and require extremely high hardness. T12/T12A tool steel is suitable for the manufacture of turning tools, milling cutters, drill bits, reamers, reaming drills and taps with low speed and difficult to change the edge; die, scraper, gauge and cold trimming die with small section size, Punching die, metal saw blade, copper tool, etc.
T13/T13A material is the steel with the highest carbon content in carbon tool steel. It has extremely high hardness, uneven carbide distribution and uneven mechanical properties. It can not withstand impact and can only be used as a tool for cutting high hardness materials. T13/T13A tool steel is used in the manufacture of razors, cutting tools, turning tools, engraving tools, scrapers, wire drawing tools, drill bits, hard stone processing tools, and tools for engraving.
