Cr12 steel grade is a cold work die steel to GB/T 1299-2004 standard. GB/T 1299 Cr12 steel equivalent has ASTM D3, 1.2080, and SKD1. With high carbon(2.00-2.30%) and Chromium (11.50-13.00) content, Cr12 steel has good strength and high resistance to abrasion. This material exhibits good dimensional stability in heat treatment.

Cr12 die steel is mainly used in cold dies and tooling parts that required the high degree of accuracy in hardening and tempering like dies drawing forming cold rolls, powder metal tooling and blanking and trimming dies, shear blades, cold die punches, and blanking dies for paper and plastics.
