2026-07-09
W6Mo5Cr4V2 is a tungsten-molybdenum high-speed tool steel, belonging to the category of general-purpose high-performance alloy steels. By balancing the proportions of elements such as tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), chromium (Cr), and vanadium (V), it possesses high hardness, wear resistance, and red hardness, making it suitable for manufacturing high-load cutting tools and hot-working dies.
Chemical composition of W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel:
C: 0.80%~0.90%
W: 5.50%~6.75%
Mo: 4.50%~5.50%
Cr: 3.80%~4.40%
V: 1.75%~2.20%
Properties of W6Mo5Cr4V2 Steel:
1. Hardness:
- Hardness after quenching can reach HRC 63~65 (oil quenching at 1200~1240℃);
- Maintains HRC 60 or higher after secondary tempering (560℃×2h).
2. Red Hardness:
- Maintains a hardness of HRC 50 or higher at 600℃, suitable for high-speed cutting.
3. Heat Treatment Process:
- Annealing: Slow cooling from 850~880℃ to below 500℃, hardness ≤HB 255;
- Quenching: Staged preheating (800~850℃), final heating to 1200~1240℃ and oil cooling;
- Tempering: 540~560℃×2~3 times, 1~2 hours each time.
