DC53 tool steel heat treatment hardness is higher than SKD11, high temperature (520-530 °C) can reach 62-63HRC high hardness after tempering, DC53 tool steel exceeds SKD11 in strength and wear resistance.
The DC53 tool steel toughness is twice that of SKD11 tool steel. The toughness of DC53tool steel is prominent in cold-working die steel. The tools made with DC53 tool steel rarely crack and crack, which greatly improves the service life. The residual stress after the wire cutting process is small, the residual stress is reduced by the high temperature tempering, and the crack and deformation after the wire cutting process are suppressed.
Machinability and abrasiveness exceed those of SKD11. DC53 tool steel is superior to SKD11 in terms of machinability and abrasiveness. The use of DC53 tool steel increases tool life and reduces machining processes.

DC53 Tool Steel Nitriding Treatment
After the workpiece is nitrided, a dense hardened layer structure is obtained on the surface, so that the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the workpiece are remarkably improved. The hardness of the surface layer after gas nitriding at 525 °C is about 1250 HV, and the hardness of the surface layer at 570 °C is about 950 HV.
