Characteristics of 4CrNi4Mo Hot Work Mold Steel
High-Temperature Stability: As a chromium-based hot work mold steel with approximately 4% chromium content, it exhibits high stability of undercooled austenite in the 400–600°C range, making it suitable for step quenching processes and effectively resisting thermal softening.
Thermal Fatigue Crack Resistance: The synergistic effect of chromium and silicon significantly enhances oxidation resistance, reducing thermal fatigue cracks under rapid heating and cooling cycles, thereby extending mold service life.
Optimized Wear Resistance: Chromium and molybdenum form hard carbides (e.g., Cr₇C₃, Mo₂C), improving surface wear resistance to withstand high-load friction conditions.
